IYHTVDesigns | How I Work,

Policies & What to Expect

Every designer has their own creative process. This page walks you through exactly what it’s like to work with me, from first inquiry to final delivery, so you can feel confident and informed every step of the way.

My goal is simple: to create meaningful, beautiful designs while making the experience calm, clear, and enjoyable.

✨ How I Work: A Creative Collaboration

1. Getting Started

Your project begins once payment is received.

At that time, you’ll share:

  • Event details

  • Inspiration (Pinterest boards, photos, mood boards)

  • Color preferences

  • Any must-have elements

The more visual direction you provide up front, the smoother and faster the process will be.

2. Design Process

All custom artwork is created in Procreate using my signature digital watercolor style, designed to look hand-painted.

You’ll receive your first proof via:

  • A private Zazzle link, or

  • A digital file (depending on your package)

If you’d like high-resolution digital files instead of Zazzle templates, this must be discussed before quoting, as it affects pricing.

3. Revisions

Each custom project includes up to two rounds of revisions for reasonable refinements such as:

  • Wording changes

  • Minor layout adjustments

  • Small illustration tweaks

Major changes may require additional fees, including:

  • Repainting elements

  • Changing the overall direction

  • Adding new illustrations

Additional illustration work typically begins at $25+ per element and is quoted case by case.

4. Redirection & Rework

If you choose to return to a previously approved design direction (for example, switching layouts or reworking completed illustrations), this is considered a new request and will be quoted separately.

5. My Style

I work in a specific illustrative watercolor style and do not replicate other artists’ work.

If a request falls outside my creative scope, I’ll always be honest and upfront about it.

6. Communication

Clear, consolidated feedback helps keep projects on track.

Multiple rounds of fragmented or unclear feedback may impact timelines. Whenever possible, I recommend sending edits in one organized message.

🗓 Turnaround Time

Typical timelines:

  • Custom projects: 1–6 weeks (depending on scope)

  • Rush requests: Available for an additional fee, based on availability

Please let me know upfront if you’re working with a firm deadline.

💼 Payments, Refunds & Scope

  • Full payment is required to reserve your spot.

  • All bespoke design fees are non-refundable once work has begun.

Each artwork is created exclusively for you and cannot be reused or resold. A significant amount of work happens before the first proof, including:

  • Research and planning

  • Sketching

  • Color studies

  • Illustration development

This preparation time is built into your investment.

Additional notes:

  • Design fees are non-refundable once work begins

  • Two revision rounds are included

  • Additional edits are quoted at $25+

  • Digital file requests after choosing Zazzle printing may incur a prep fee

🖨 Printing & File Delivery

  • I do not offer in-house printing.

  • All Zazzle orders are placed directly through their website.

  • Printing and shipping fees are handled by Zazzle.

Depending on your package, you will receive:

  • High-resolution JPEG files for self-printing, or

  • Personalized Zazzle templates for ordering

Once finalized, templates are delivered via a private ordering link.

⚡ Final Notes

  • Colors may vary between screens and printers.

  • Final proofreading is the client’s responsibility.

  • Once approved, I am not responsible for typos or omissions.

  • I strongly recommend having a second set of eyes review your design before printing.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions

When should we reach out for bespoke wedding stationery?

Ideally, 4–6 months before your wedding (or earlier).

Custom illustrations such as maps and venue portraits require scheduling and queue placement. Booking early secures your spot.

What does “booking into turnaround” mean?

It means your project is added to my active work queue and will begin according to the quoted timeline. This is standard for custom work.

How long do custom illustrations take?

On average:

  • Venue or pet portraits: 1–2 weeks

  • Maps: 3–6 weeks

  • Full suites: 6–10 weeks

These timelines include design and revisions, but not printing or shipping, which may take an additional 2–4 weeks through Zazzle.

What if we’re using a ready-made Zazzle template?

Ready-made designs have much faster turnaround.

Recommended ordering timelines:

  • Save the Dates: 6–8 months before

  • Invitations: 3–4 months before

  • Day-of Items: 4–6 weeks before

I’m always happy to help with wording or minor edits.

🤍 A Note from Me

Every project I take on is personal. Whether we’re creating a full wedding suite, a custom map, or a single keepsake, my goal is to make something that feels meaningful, thoughtful, and beautifully you.

If you ever have questions along the way, I’m always happy to help.
