Illustrated Destination Wedding SuitesHand-painted venue illustrations and bespoke wedding stationery inspired by extraordinary places.
Every destination has a story to tell.
From mountain lodges and vineyard estates to coastal resorts and historic landmarks, each wedding suite begins with original hand-painted illustrations that celebrate the unique character of a place. More than an invitation, each suite becomes a keepsake that introduces guests to the experience awaiting them.
03. Bringing the Destination to Life
With the vision established, the illustration process begins.
Every destination is first explored through pencil. Working from venue plans, aerial imagery, photographs, and architectural references, I sketch each property by hand to understand its layout, proportions, and unique character before introducing colour.
This early map becomes the foundation for the entire wedding suite. It guides everything from the illustrated itinerary and guest maps to custom icons and location markers, ensuring every piece feels connected to the place itself.
1. The Inquiry
It all began with a simple email.
Every custom wedding suite starts with a conversation.
John & Bee reached out after discovering one of my existing illustrated destination wedding invitations on Zazzle. They loved the concept, but wanted to transform it into something entirely their own for a three-day celebration at Castello di Meleto in Tuscany.
Their message wasn't simply asking for a design. It was the beginning of a collaborative creative process.
02. The Vision
Before the first brushstroke, there is always a story.
For their wedding at Castello di Meleto in Tuscany, John and Bee envisioned a suite that would do more than announce a celebration. They wanted guests to arrive feeling informed, excited, and immersed in the experience.
Their ideas included a hand-illustrated venue map, custom destination artwork, local icons, weekend itinerary, and thoughtful details that would transform practical information into a keepsake guests would treasure long after the wedding.
04. Bringing the Story to Life
With the composition complete, the pencil sketch becomes a hand-painted watercolor illustration.
Working from photographs and reference materials, I carefully paint each destination while preserving the details that make it unique. Every illustration is tailored to the couple and their story, blending architectural accuracy with an artistic interpretation that feels timeless and personal.
Sometimes those details are subtle. For John and Bee, it was important that a tiny bee found its way into the illustration. Hidden among the florals in the lower corner, it became a quiet, personal detail that reflected the couple and rewarded guests who took a closer look.
The finished artwork became the visual foundation for their entire wedding suite, appearing throughout the itinerary, maps, and weekend stationery.
05. The Finished Wedding Suite
Every illustration, map, and itinerary page comes together as a cohesive guest experience.
Rather than receiving a standard invitation, guests are welcomed with a beautifully illustrated keepsake that introduces the destination, highlights the weekend's celebrations, and helps them confidently navigate every part of the wedding.
From venue maps and travel information to custom artwork inspired by the couple's story, every page is thoughtfully designed to be both practical and memorable. Long after the wedding weekend has ended, the suite remains a lasting reminder of the place where it all happened.
Every custom invitation begins with a conversation. Every finished piece becomes a story someone gets to hold in their hands.
Another Story, Another Place
Every venue has its own personality.
Sometimes a couple already knows exactly what they want to showcase. Other times, they simply send me a few photographs, a Pinterest board, and a handful of ideas, trusting me to bring everything together into a cohesive piece.
For Linda and Timothy, the vision centered around Historic Shady Lane's beautiful greenhouse and woodland ceremony site. Their sketches, venue photos, wedding website, and inspiration became a fully illustrated invitation designed specifically for their celebration.
No two wedding weekends are alike, and that's exactly what makes creating these pieces so rewarding.
More Stories, More Places
Every collection begins with the story of a place.
Whether it's a centuries-old castle in Tuscany, a mountain lodge in the Canadian Rockies, a forest ceremony, a coastal resort, California vineyards, Zion National Park, or a historic estate, every project starts with research into the destination itself.
From there, I hand illustrate the venue, surrounding landscape, local landmarks, architecture, wildlife, and the small personal details that make each celebration unique. Those illustrations are then woven into invitation suites, love story maps, destination itineraries, and keepsake stationery that become part invitation, part travel guide, and part lasting memory.
